About the German cook…
My name is Klaus-Dieter Schulze, I was born in 1948 in Oranienbaum, a small historical town in the middle of the garden realm of Dessau-Wörlitz in germany. In my childhood I was living at an old manor with my family. My grandfather and mother that time already payed much attention to traditional german cuisine. I came in touch with traditional german dishes but started to work in a technical profession for first when I was older. Later when I met my wife we found our passion for german cuisine and started to work in different good restaurants in Germany for nearly 40 years. I have been chef the cuisine in different restaurants and for the last 15 years I’ve been managing a well known 4-stars hotel in the garden realm of Dessau-Wörlitz (an interesting area with landscape gardens and old historical castles between Berlin and Leipzig.) I’ve developed and created many different interesting dishes and recipes but always also tried to prevent traditional German cuisine and to present also these meals in high quality in my restaurant. Therefore I´ve also been working for the german hotel and restaurant organisation where I was conducting exams and masterships for cooks for 8 years.
I ´ve often been asked to write down some of the traditional German recipes and to publish them. A good friend, living in North Carolina now, gave the idea to me to write it in English , too. This I will do now from time to time in this blog.
My son is helping me with translation because I’m not speaking English as well as I would want to, so if you find a mistake in translation, it would be very kind of you to tell me about.
Also If you are interested in a special recipe you want me to show or want to know how to cook this or that feel free to ask…firstname.lastname@example.org
